Dear Reader,
By now, I weigh 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama) and am about 16.7 inches long, taking up a lot of space in mommies uterus. She's gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to me. In fact, I'll gain a third to half of my birth weight during the next 7 weeks as I fatten up for survival outside the womb. I now have toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). My skin is becoming soft and smooth as I plump up in preparation for birth.

This is a glimpse into my journey of being young and happily married and loving our first baby!! We'll go on a roller coaster ride of emotions day to day so buckle your belts and enjoy the ride!!!
My Quote
"Maybe our mistakes are what makes our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, or be who we are. After all seasons change. So do cities. People come in our lives and people go. But it's comforting...the ones you love are always in your heart. And if you're lucky, always will be."-Miranda Brogdon

31 weeks!!!
Dear Reader,
This week, I measure just over 16 inches long and weigh about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and am heading into a growth spurt. I can turn my head from side to side, and my arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath my skin. I'm probably moving a lot, too, so mommy may have trouble sleeping because my kicks and somersaults may keep her up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that I am active and healthy.
Also mommy has been having mild contractions and went to the hospital night before last and was hooked up to monitors for hours where they said that I looked like I was doing great and her contractions were touch and go but not so bad that it would harm me. Mommy has 9 more weeks left but at this point it really could be anytime that I make my sweet arrival!

30 weeks yesterday!
Sorry that this didn't get posted yesterday, my mouse decided to randomly die yesterday and so I was left without ALL day long!!!
Dear Reader
I'm about 15.7 inches long now, and I weigh almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds me, but that volume will decrease as I get bigger and takes up more room in mommies uterus. My eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after I'm born, I'll keep my eyes closed for a good part of the day. When I do open them, I'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision — which means I'll only make out objects a few inches from my face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)

29 weeks!! 19th birthday!!!
Dear Reader,
I now weigh about 2 1/2 pounds (like a butternut squash) and am a tad over 15 inches long from head to heel. My muscles and lungs are continuing to mature, and my head is growing bigger to make room for my developing brain. To meet my increasing nutritional demands, mommy will need plenty of protein, vitamins C, folic acid, and iron. And because my bones are soaking up lots of calcium, she needs to drink lots of milk (or find another good source of calcium, such as cheese, yogurt, or enriched orange juice). This trimester, about 250 milligrams of calcium are deposited in my hardening skeleton each day.

28 weeks!!!
Dear Reader,
By this week, I weigh two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of my head to my heels. I can blink my eyes, which now sport lashes. With my eyesight developing, I may be able to see the light that filters in through mommies womb. I'm also developing billions of neurons in my brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
